1. The class rules provide that boats may only carry a set of sails designated in the rules. They also provide that three additional sails may be measured. The jury was asked to rule whether those sails may be substituted provided an equivalent sail in the main set is left ashore. The jury advised that this was permitted.
2. On the last day of the event, a protest was submitted alleging that the boat that was clearly the overall winner and champion was in breach of the classification rules. The class manager had only posted the crew lists with classification details the day before despite being advised to do so before the start of the regatta. The protest alleged that three of the crew listed as Group 1 should have been Group 3. From evidence received it was clear that one of those three was under review and had to be treated as unclassified and therefore, under the class rules, was not Group 1; on that basis the boat broke the rule and had to be disqualified from all races she had sailed, which meant all her races, thus losing the championship.
Race management was generally excellent. However an inner distance mark was used and in one race a boat went between that mark and the committee boat in breach of a sailing instruction. The race committee did not protest and it might have been better if it had done so.
