THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
The Melges 32 Sailing Instructions stated that ALL rule violations, other than part 2 rules are at the discrection of the international jury, however the penalties for breaking rule 42 were fixed to a one turn penalty for the first breach and retiring from the race for all further breaches. Penalties taken on the water were one-turn penalties and two-turns penalties, if the incident happened in the zone. Penalties for incidents at the windward-mark could be postponed to the first reasonable opportunity on the downwind-leg.
A limited umpiring system was used on the water, it was not a penalty system, but an advisory system, which boat has most likely broken a rule and should take a penalty. The system is appreciated by the class. All rules disputes were solved by actions on the water or discussions among the boats ashore.
The OA was composed of two Yacht Clubs, Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and Yacht Club Porto Rotondo, in conjunction with the Melges 32 class. YCPR was the hosting club and responsible for all shore activities, while YCCS organized the races on the water and supplied all necessary boats and equipment. The jury boats were of outstanding quality and could be used in all weather conditions with no limitations.

The RC used VHF to inform the boats about all its intentions and as a helping tool during the starting sequences.

The races were covered by a lot of media-boats. A live-stream of all races was available on the class? website.
