THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
Following strong negative reactions from the local environmental authority on the proposed use of the Q & A wording to allow spinnaker banding to fall into the water, rule 55 was in force at this event with no change. Competitors were advised of this two weeks before the event and were able to devise other methods for control of spinnakers during the hoist. There were no protests for boats breaking rule 55 and no problems with spinnaker hoists were observed by the jury (boats up to 72 feet, winds up to 20+ knots) No adverse comments from competitors were received by the jury about this limitation.

The J70 class rules are in the process of development, and this caused several issues to be raised as a result of late requests for changes to SIs. I understand a revision to the rules is to be issued in March, however until this is complete event organisers should check SIs carefully with the J70 class
Although one day was lost to most classes because of lack of wind, good winds and race management for the rest of the week enabled a full program of races to be completed, with exciting conditions on the last day
