Competitor asked for redress, asking International Jury to abandon the race after it was sailed. He based his claim on the fact that R.C. did not abandon the race after wind had considerably weakened at late stage of the race and that course was not set according to the Star Class rules for that event format, but shorter. He concluded this from his own observation, that it was not possible to sail 7,4 NM in time elapsed from the starting signal until first boat had finished (2 upwind and 2 downwind legs of 1,85 NM each, total of 7,4 NM). International Jury found that wind had weakened in the late stage of the race. First boat had reached the first windward mark, as well as finished within both Star Class time limits (for rounding first windward mark and for finishing the race) for applicable race format B. More than half of the fleet finished in time limit after first boat had finished the race. Jury found that R.C. set course by using GPS to the minimum prescribed distance for the course format. Therefore there was no error by R.C. which would make competitors score considerably worse. Redress was not given.
Wind forecast for the whole European Championship was bad and Race Committee used every possibility of wind to run the race. On the first day there was one race, on second three races. Third day was totally without wind and on the last day there was attempt to run the race but without success. Championship was concluded with four races.
