The Borneo International Yachting Challenge (BIYC) is held annually to attract yachts to sail in the azure waters of Borneo in East Malaysia.
The "Challenge" consisted of 2 passage races and 13 in-port races.
The event was most keenly contested in the IRC class between the top 2 yachts and in the cruising class between 2 multi-hulls, resulting in a couple of protests.
The Sailing Instructions and Notice Of Race were clear.
In the 2 passage races, cruising boats could elect to use their motor for propulsion 15 minutes after the start and motoring times are added to the results, calculated under special rules of the competition.
There was no issue between the Jury and the Race Management.
