THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
The 2016 49er and 49erFX Europeans were held in Barcelona, Spain. The international Jury mainly had to deal with protests on Part 2 incidents and minor measurement issues, which could all be resolved in a good communication with the RC and the competitors.
All races were conducted highly professional and in absolute compliance with the World Sailing Race Management Policies. There was great appreciation by the competitors, which was also mentioned by Blair Tuke (NZL 1), crew of overall winning Team Burling-Tuke in the 49er class at the price giving ceremony. Mainly, the starts were conducted under Uniform flag, which led to a good starting habit and reduced the amount of general recalls to a minimum.
