J 24 class uses the scoring penalty for all infringements of rules on the water and offers in addition arbitration and "After Race Scoring Penalties". The penalties are different for different infringements (RRS 31, 42 or Part 2 inside or outside the zone or class rules) Though the system works, it needs careful observations by the jury.
All sailors and officials agreed, that this championship was OUTSTANDING well organized and the hospitality will never be forgotten by any of them.
Due to the fact, that a tropical storm (Typhoon) passed across the venue the wind conditions before and after that passage were extremely difficult with many major windshifts in light winds. On the day of the passage racing was abandoned. The race committee managed to get 7 out of 10 scheduled races sailed.
