The event was rearranged at the last minute from Boracay because of the closure of hotels on that island (presidential decree because of pollution fears) The new long race round the Verde Islands was very much liked by the sailors and considered to give challenging sailing. Unfortunately entry numbers were down because of the change in venue, but those who came to Subic had great sailing, perfect wind conditions around 15 knots, and well set courses with exemplary race management.
The new Far East 28 fleet of charter boats proved to provide exciting sailing and good competition. - HKGTS1
