The Sailing Instructions required, each day, the crew of first, second and third boats in the series ranking to wear and display a yellow, orange and red bib respectively. This was instead of the more usual "coloured dot" on the sail. In practice the bibs were not close fitting and carried the risk of entanglement for the crew's and the S.I.'s were amended to remove the requirement, for safety reasons. IJ's are advised that if such a requirement is required for future events, bibs or other distiguishing clothing should be checked before racing to ensure its suitability and safety in use.
