THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
A very nice championship despite the COVID crisis. 205 sailors (33% girls; 36% under 13)
Perfect sailing conditions with winds between 12 and 25 knts, allowing 14 races for all fleets.
Appendix UF was used as prescribed by WS: as the class is used to add a “freestyle” exercise (360 or “standing” sailing on the reach, which can be penalized by the jury), and Appendix UF may not be modified, the RC decided to add this potential penalty in the SI.
The OA did a fantastic job ashore, in order to deal with the COVID situation: a perfect organization was set to launch boats and welcome them ashore, avoiding sailors to cross and wait for their trolley and leading to calm, perfectly controlled and efficient circulation in the harbor.
The RC did also a great job afloat, minimizing delays afloat (by sending fleets separately when necessary), choosing the race area according to the wind.
5 jury (very good) boats were provided for direct fleet umpiring of the races.
Appendix P was modified by Appendix UF, so that every penalty given was a 1 turn Pen.
The price giving was organized outside to comply with the COVID rules.
The jury was welcomed in a nice and large jury room, just ahead of the slipway.
Very good accommodation also, with hotel close to the venue.
