Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
Redress was granted to one boat which was OCS and returned but was subsequently damaged through no fault of its own but this damage caused boat to retire. Average points to date was not suitable as took no account of OCS so redress of position at time of incident was granted. Competitor not happy and asked for reopening which was refused.
Courses and start lines were excellent as was judgement when postponing for unsettled wind. Redress was granted to two boats scored OCS in an early race on account of non-compliance with RRS 29.1. Subsequent procedures were faultless.
