THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
16 day / 14 class / 681 boat event; Stavros Kouris GRESK14 was Jury Chair for the 2nd half. Event included the World Championships for the RS Feva (186 boats), RS Aero Youth (73), RS Tera (125), and RS500, and the European Championships for the RS700 and RS Aero (133). Excellent race management across multiple course areas inside the harbour and in Weymouth bay; almost complete schedule of races for all classes. Jury rotation meant 4-6 on site on any day; efficient working and good paper-less systems enabled this small team to meet all App P (4 largest classes), App T and hearing requirements without any late finishes. Publishing a small guide on how to use the online system was helpful to sailors unfamiliar with it. One remote jury member attended some hearings over Zoom. Appendix P was changed so that all penalties were under P2.1. One fleet was receiving a high number of penalties and Jury switched to one judge per RIB to increase its coverage for this class. The Jury would have preferred P2.2 to apply (maybe for 3rd and subsequent penalties). - GBRCA2
