The 2022 Nastro Rosa Veloce is a non-stop race on Figaro3 boats, double and/or double-mixed crew and without on-water assistance from Venice to Genoa, were competitors need to show a number of skills, from technical to tactical, from physical to psycological resistance. The winner sailed the 1492 nautical miles in 9 days 20 hrs 23 mins 4 secs, vs record from previous edition of 8 days 8 hours 27 mins 23 secs. Despite the length of the course there were continuous changes in leadership until the final leg from Elba island to Genoa. The event is extremely complex from the logistics standpoint and was well organized. The International Jury had 3 members on site in Genoa and two judges were available remotely. No hearing requests were filed by competitors or race officials. The technology used for boat tracking is possibly an area of improvement, since the accuracy of the provided system was not better than 500m; such limitation would not allow the jury to comfortably determine whether boats had properly complied to rule of minimum 1Nm distance from islands, drilling platforms or fishing areas. - ITACU2
