THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
Of the six member international jury, 5 attended. Therefore, on the last two days of the event, while conducting RRS 69 hearings, judges were not on the water for Appendix P.
With allegations from the EDIO involving safeguarding, when is a different process than RRS 69 a more appropriate action?
The Discretionary Penalty Policy in Jury Policies does not provide a base penalty for breaches of the class roles for crew position. In consultation with the PRO and TD, a base penalty was set at Band 2.
The Adaptations Committee (SI 2.10, consistent with Para-Classification Rule 3.8) considered, then denied an athlete’s request for an adaptation. But the athlete had no rules path to appeal the decision.
Breakdowns in launching and retrieving the gennaker on the RS Venture Connect resulted from competitors’ shortening the pull-out line, although not permitted by the SIs.
The wifi network was inadequate for all competitors, race officials and volunteers to access the event website for results and the on-line site to submit scoring inquiries and hearing requests. - CANAB17
