THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
The regatta served as both the ILCA Senior European Championship and as an Olympic qualifier for the men and women’s single handed dinghy classes. There was very little wind for the first four days, presenting a frustrating challenge for both the competitors and the race committee alike, with very few completed races. The last two days presented moderate conditions, with a total of 42 races completed in the end, across 3 classes divided into 6 fleets, including a medal race for ILCA 6 women. The majority of cases were requests for redress, with two particularly interesting requests coming stemming from the scoring after the women's medal race, where neither scoring per RRS A8 nor the finishing positions from the medal race applied to break ties. Hence the ties were not broken. Refer to Case 19 of the event. In the prevailing light conditions, the sailors collected many RRS 42 / RRS P penalties - with one competitor reaching 3 flags before a race was completed. - RSALS2
