The Soling class has altered RRS 42 in their class rules C.9.1. In addition the class rule C 9.9 states that Appendix P will not be used in Soling class fleet racing.
However, our impression is the class does have a RRS 42 problem in light wind conditions, and no boats are protesting RRS 42 breaches of other boats.
The basic principle states the sailors are expected to follow and enforce the rules, but in reality they are not comfortable with doing so. We have therefore proposed to the class to use RRS appendix P at their events and make less alterations to RRS 42 in their class rules. - FINJS9
