THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
The classes that formed this event were the SKUD 18, 2.4mR & Sonar. In order to answer questions that were brought forward we had to cross reference through indeed even other documents like the IFDS Race Management. It is maybe time for the Class Rules to be amended and to include relevant items. Expecting a sailor to have and know where to find items in certain documents may be too much. The seating position and the wording in the class Rules for the SKUD 18 is still an issue and it seems that the sailors wish the rule to be worded in a way that the crew will be strapped in a position that almost ensures that the crew can't move their back from the seat and can't slide forward in the seat. The Class may adopt a new seat ( costly ) or maybe write the rule and state that this will be umpired.
A very open Race Committee who every morning clearly and in a straight forward manner spoke to the sailos. Communication between the OA, the Race Officers the TD and the Jury was healthy and flowing. Kinsale Yacht Club did an excellent job and Kinsale as a town lent itself really well to the event.
