We may have seen a problem with the definition of mark room.
At a finish at the pin end we had an inside overlapped boat on port.
The starboard oat was advanced, crossed ahead, then gybed to port.
It luffed to avoid contact with the mark and the boat with mark room luffed slightly to avoid and proceeded to the finish.
We DSQ the tarboard boat for failin to give mark room.
I as chair asked for a reopening to my panel but they refused.
I as the J70 boats in a lighter wind had to ail hot considered thet the proper course of the port boat was not to sail close to the mak as it would have collapesed the genneker and it should continue to sail furter away from the mark for its bes t inish.
This meant the staboad boat had to allow the other boat to pass the mark aon the corrct side and leave it astern which it did.
I would have reinstated the starboard boat as I believe it gave the mark room required.
It is dangerous, but I believe it complies with the new rule, and you may wish to look into this. I can explain more if you wish.
I had a jury one remote.
I dropped one who agreed with me to have an additional jury member as this was a - GBRMB13
