On the first day of the Southern Coast Cup 2025, June 13, both ORC 1 and ORC 2 started at the Tongyeong Inshore Race, but ORC 1 abandoned the race due to weak winds, while ORC 2 completed one race despite the light winds.
On the second day of the Southern Coast Cup 2025, June 14, ORC 1 departed from Tongyeong to Maemul-do, and ORC 2 departed from Tongyeong to Yeosu. Special case in the second day of racing, due to a protest by RC, ORC2 Baracuda, which had four crews competing in the Tongyeong to Yeosu leg, was disqualified for not meeting the minimum crew requirement specified in NoR 3.2(a).
On the third day of the Southern Coast Cup 2025, June 15, ORC1 departed from Maewol-do to Busan, while ORC2 had Coastal Race in Yeosu. The RC assessed that Team Chuyong in ORC1, failed to pass the mandatory checkpoint of Namhyungje-do gate during the race from Maemul-do to Busan. Team Chuyong lodged request for redress, but failed.
Despite weak winds, heavy rain, and intermittent strong gusts, the Southern Coast Cup 2025 concluded safely without any incidents. However, on the second day of the event (June 14), as ORC1 and ORC2 followed different courses, the hearing was conducted with four Jury members.
For the 2026 Southern Coast Cup, I think it would be best to have one course that adjusts the distance based on the fast speed of ORC1 and the slow speed of ORC2. - KORSJ5
