THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
RRS App SY applied. The new ORCSY rule was used for running the races and scoring. Though this is very new and handycapping superyachts is a most difficult task, the system works remarkably well and improvement is a continuing process.
As an alternative of going into a formal hearing, advisory hearings for rules clarification maybe used by the competitors. The hearing mentioned was of this type.
The jury felt the necessity that the term "overtaking boat" should be defined in the RRS App SY, for clarification and consistency.
For one class a staggered start was used, while two other classes started using a pursuit start. Time on Distance was the basic for the results.
In the light conditions it was difficult for the RC to choose suitable courses for the yachts of this size and the wind. The RC succeeded to do so!
