THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
In major events, the J24 class uses the scoring penalty, with different percentages for different rule infringements. To act properly, the sailors have to be aware of different duties they have to fulfill before the penalty is properly taken.
The scoring penalties taken, made some protestors to withdraw an already lodged protest.
No arbitrator took part in a hearing, that followed arbitration.
The RC was obviously not aware of the Regatta Regulations of the J 24 class for World Championships. During the event, the Int. Jury had some times to interfere to advice the RC to run the races properly and to be aware of the Sailing Instructions. Race Office work improved during the event. The jury had to give some advices to score the races properly. After that, the work was good, as the work on the water was satisfying.
