The Grand Prix Guyader is a multiple water-sport event ( sailing (racing and speed runs) kayak, paddleboard, windboard, kiteboarding, radio sailing, sea-angling...) spread over a week. The sailing part of the event includes racing for offshore mono-hulls and multi-hulls, for a sportsboat multihull class (the Diam's 24) and a regatta for the International Dragon Class.
Umpiring fleets of 14 small high speed trimarans sailing on a small course presented an interesting challenge for the Jury. For Dragons judges displayed a red flag if they believed a rule had been broken, with the judges authorised to give 2 turn penalties if no boat takes a 1 turn voluntary penalty.
The Jury Chairman for the first part of the week was hospitalised during the event but the Jury remained duly constituted under rule N1.5
Yves Leglise chaired the Jury for the first part of the week, Georges Priol for the second.
Jean Coadou and Loic Ponceau ran racing for the Diams 24 and Offshore yachts, Jean Pierre Evrard was called in at the last minute to run racing for the Dragons.
For the Dragons two days racing was list due to very light and inconsistent winds.
