This event is one of the Asian Sailing Federation Cup tagged series hosted by Hong Kong (the others being in India, Thailand and Abu Dhabi. The event was well run and managed by Race Officials fresh from the 29er Worlds held earlier at the same Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. Arbitration was used at this event . Inconsistent winds on the first day meant Race Management had to shuffle race courses . The Jury Vessels were all very well maintained and equipped. However, the Hong Kong Marine Authorities required that each vessel be driven by one with a Personal Vessel Operator's License (PVOL) issued by Hong Kong hence the on water pairings was such that a foreign judge had to be accompanied by a PVOL holder at all times. - MASLC2
