The 2nd of the World Cup Series in Miami coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Olympic Class racing in the Bay of Biscayne in a mixture of initially cold and then warm conditions of mostly light airs. Race management did a great job in ensuring as many quality races as possible were held under the daily prevailing conditions. One race course had depth issues which was not in the charts but this was addressed by shifting the course away. The jury depended on the online Mange2sail software and had initial difficulties due to the unstable wifi/internet in the jury portacabins. However, this was eventually rectified. The 8 jury vessels were generally good low wake ribs berthed a healthy 15minute walk away. The daily pairings and course assignments ensured all 5 race courses were adequately covered. The Finn and 470 courses that may fly Oscar used US VHF channel 78 which many overseas judges did not have programmed in their personal radios. Jury at these courses swapped radios to ensure communications with the Start vessel. - ARGGH6
