The organisers, the Wuhai City Government of Inner Mongolia invited IROs and an International Jury for this event to ensure that the event was run to World Sailing standards. A pool of sailors from different classes were appointed to join the jury to comply with App N with the condition that they cannot be in the panel of a protest involving their class.
The event attracted a large number of spectators rarely seen at such sailing events and the organisers hope this event will help to popularize the sport.
During the protest hearings on the 2nd day of racing, a storm blew down the Jury tent and the hearing was abruptly adjourned and all subsequent hearings were postponed to the following day. The rest of hearings were held in the nearby hotel.
Racing on the final day was cancelled as the weather was inclement and many of the safety boats were damaged after the storm.
The support by the organizer in all aspects of the event was excellent .
