This was intended to be the iQFOiL world championship but as the class is not yet a World Sailing Class, it didn't have the right to hold a world championship. Nevertheless, and despite the COVID restrictions, the event was very well attended with 183 sailors from 30 countries and many countries having strong national teams. The organisers made an amazing job accommodating everybody while following the national COVID protocols. The relevant World Sailing recommendation for dealing with the protocols in the rules as described in Q&A 2020.10 were implemented and no action needed to be taken. The NOR/SIs of the event were far from perfect. The event included three different formats: Course Racing, Marathon and Slalom. There were issues with the protesting and scoring rules for each of those formats, as well as issues with the equipment rules and regulations. The jury did their best to resolve everything as fairly as possible but it is important to resolve the issues for the future. Especially the resolving of incidents in the slalom should be thought of thoroughly. Addendum Q worked well in the medal races which were sailed in a slalom format and light wind. It will be a much greater challenge when the wind is stronger. - GREMP
