THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
No need to post amendments of SI thanks to the collaboration with the PRO before printing them. The particular configuration of the course area, the absence of a preferred side for beating and the similar perfomances of the majority of boats did cause a large crowding of boats on opposite tack while approaching the windward mark. Many incidents occurred without damages or injury, often the inside boat did break rule 31, but the boats having broken a rule took the proper penalty. There were only two protests lodged by competitors and some protests concerning infringements to rule 31, that the jury had intention to lodge, did arise in a retirement declaration after finishing as a result of informing the boats involved. While enforcing rule 42 as by Appendix P, thanks the good sailing conditions, only in few case the yellow light did switch-on on run legs.
The RC decided to sail all races in the one that did offer the best wind conditions in a restricted window of time (about three hours, from noon to 3 p.m.). Only 3 days of 6 did offer the proper wind conditions for good racing on the preferred racing area of the two that have been planned, so only seven races of ten has been sailed. For each race the RC did set a starting line which marks was constituted by two floating staffs displaying an orange flag, not anchored. This system, thanks the not existence of current and a not significant drift of the marks, did allow to set each new starting line in short time, despite the big deep of the lake. The last race has been fished shortening the course at the windward mark.
