There were a total of 91 Optimists sailing in the event. Sixty-two boats divided between the Red, White and Blue classes and 29 boats in the green fleet. The green fleet raced on a separate course and protests were heard on the water by the coaches.
The International Jury, although initially properly constituted, heard protests under rule N1.5 after one of the jury members tested positive for Covid during the event and there were no replacements available.
