This is a large annual regatta where the race management only meet the day before the regatta so the First Day always brings a new challenge. This year on one course in race 1 there was a miss communication between the committee boat and the windward mark layer. IRC 1 where sent to a further mark than IRC 2&3. the Mark layer layer the incorrect mark for IRC2&3. The Race Officer Abandoned the race after the Finnish when he realised the mark was incorrect and that competitors had rounded the IRC 1 mark and the intended mark although incorrectly coloured. Competitors requested Redress. At the hearing we could not identify which boats had sailed the course correctly, and agreed that the race officer had considered the consequences for all boats and dismissed the request for redress.
All race officers had a good regatta in very varied conditions over the 4 days form big seas and strong wind to near calms. the race officers where Steve Parry,GBRSP62-Keith Wilkins, GBRKW22-Patrik Schander SWEPS13 and Dave Hommer, GBRDH102
