As I posted on 2012 on a similar event where medals are awarded for countries, and there are allowed 3 competitors per class per country, on the last day we have a protest for the alleged use of Team Racing Tactics on a fleet race, again.

On 2012 I suggested, and proporse again now, to allow only one competitor per class&country, and then on the last day use a mix combination of boats & competitors to have a proper team racing competition, to allow one medal for Team Racing for the Country they are representing. This may need more experienced Team Racing Umpires, but as the opti class is well developed in south america, most of the judges have team racing experience.
Everthing was perfectly organised by the OA, and the PRO had an excellent team and lead them from the front.

There was one challenging situation on the last day. Because of the lack of wind, there was the possibility to do only one race. There were very light winds from 3 to 6 knots. The RSX Open and Women Class started a race and then it was abandoned before the first mark. The reason: pumping was "...the main method of propulsion...", as the Race Management Policies from February 2014 explains for windsurfing, the RC may abandon the race, and that is what he did. There was a request for redress from one competitor, but it was denied because even if it was at the first place at that moment just before the windward mark, there was no improper action or omission from the RC when he abandoned the race following the isaf policies.
