This event has a very varied entry, from top international teams to those with little experience sailing chartered boats. Consequently many protests fail due to validity.
A limited on water 'umpire' service was implemented. Judges were able to respond to a protest flag with flags to indicate if they would bring evidence that a rule had been broken. A number of red flags were displayed each day resulting in penalties being taken on the water and presumably avoiding hearings. This service was necessarily limited with just three jury boats on the water, but the service was well appreciated by competitors.
Appendix N1.4(b) was used most days, splitting the six person jury into panels of 3. There were no requests for hearings by a full IJ.
The race management team provided great racing for all classes using a variety of pre-set courses. Some confusions in the course instructions could be ironed out for next year.
