THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
SUPPORT BOAT PROTEST BY JURY: The jury protested a boat because her support boat was inside the racing area breaking a sailing instruction. During the hearing the jury learned that the support boat driver was also the 8 Metre Class president and was positioning a class media photographer for a picture of four boats about to finish. The driver admitted his mistake and apologized. He stated that he had not read the sailing instruction requirement and positioned the boat to allow the photographer to take photographs that would be used for class promotion.
The sailing instruction allowed the penalty for a breach of the Support Boat Protest sailing instruction to be discretionary. The decision was that the boat had broken the rule and received a zero-point penalty.

JURY ON-WATER PRESENCE: Although the Int 8 Metre is not a class with a reputation for aggressive starting, mark rounding or kinetics, the jury made the effort to be the water watching the racing. It saw two of the three boat vs. boat protests.
