THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
The jury called some coaches to a hearing under new rule 60.3(d) following reports alleging that those coaches had broken SI and coach boats regulations. All of them were found to have broken more than one rule (positioning while racing, not wearing PFD, not using kill cord, not displaying Country Code, etc). After considering what penalty would be appropriate, the jury decided that they should report to the jury office at the actual starting time of the next race on which the boats they were supporting were racing. This penalty prevented them from servicing their sailors at the start but not in between the two races of the day. When calling the hearing, the jury called the coaches together with the sailors they were supporting. The jury explained the sailors that they would not be in a risk to be penalized unless rule 41 were broken or they had gained an advantage by the coachesĀ“ breach. However, since they could eventually be penalized if their coaches repeated the breaches, the jury called them to give them the possibility to follow the process from the begging. - ESPLF3
