THIS SECTION MAY BE COMPLETED BY ANY JURY MEMBER
Comments on rule questions, new interpretations, problems, unpopular Rule 62 (Redress) decisions, summary of the facts, conclusions and decisions of Rule 69 (Allegations of Gross Misconduct) actions, problems with Sailing Instructions or Notice of Race and experience with experimental procedures.
Used the RRSAC. This includes many changes to the RRS and has been developed for AC racing over 6 years. Redress and rule 14 processes changed to allow for decisions without a hearing involving the yachts. Lots of changes compared to standard WS rules. See noticeboard.acracemgt.com for details A process was agreed with all competitors for rule 14 breach to be determined (AC requires serious damage) and redress applied immediately after the race. Similar to current practice in Match racing but without the right of the competitor to go to the Jury if they disagree. This was very useful when dealing with multiple races on a day and the need to get an answer quickly. Races were all umpired using an electronic Umpire program (UmpApp). This requires more than well developed software, it also requires new processes and procedures for the Umpires to manage the facts that come in in different ways. - AUSRS
