- WS builder's plaques remain an issue in this class, several boats did not have plaques at the beginning of the event. These were resolved by the class association before the conclusion of the event. Licensed builders should be reminded of the obligations to supply boats with WS plaques. - Several boats did not have sail codes and numbers that complied with RRS Appendix G. The competitors with the least identifiable codes/numbers were asked to ensure they the met the requirements, and they did. Maybe sail code/numbers could be included in the Equipment Inspection to ensure these are resolved before the races. - We had a case where Redress Given was applied to a competitor's score for several races. Under the principles set out in WS Case 116 is was determined to restrict the redress to only 2 of the 3 races she missed as 6 races constituted the Qualifying Series (she completed races 1, 2 and 3 and was unable due, to damage sustained in an incident with a vessel required to keep clear (RRS 62.1 (b)), to complete races 4, 5 and 6). However, the final score according to the SI stated that a boat's score would include those from both the Qualifying Series and the Final Series, a total of 15 races, so there was an argument that we could have applied redress to all 3 races missed. This issue will be the subject of a question to the Q&A panel to determine what constitutes a 'series' and whether Case 116 should relate to an overall series of an event or a sub-series like a Qualifying or Final series. - GBREM1
